Moving
Moving is an exciting event, the promise of a new life, at the same time it is a stressful period in people’s life. We can reduce the inconvenience of it if we begin to prepare for it in time.
Many unnecessary things can be piled in one’s home without regular sorting. It’s worth to get rid of them before moving, since not only the number of boxes can be reduced this way, but they haven’t to be treated in the new home also. The task should be started far before moving in steps, even room by room. Prepare three big sacks or boxes and sort the unnecessary objects by groups: for sale, for donation and trash. Announce the sale of furniture, decorating objects etc. in time, even with the term of the real taken time. It has a little chance that everything will be immediately sold, that’s why we have to be prescient. Charity services are happy to get any kind of clothes if they are not sleazy or toys and story-books. The broken, useless objects can be recycled. We can get rid of bigger pieces (furniture, carpet etc.) at the yearly garbage. If this is not relevant presently, these have to be taken away which needs organization and has costs.
Don’t let boxing for the last time also. We always have more stuff than we think. Those which won’t be used until moving (books, decorating objects, winter clothes in summer, Christmas ornaments etc.) can be boxed already. Have time to pack them in a clean condition, because this way they only have to be put on their place in the new home. Boxes always should be labeled! It will be much easier if these will have put in that room where they will be opened and we don’t have to seek what we need first in the new place. Stick the boxes carefully, for not to fall apart during moving and objects in them not to be dusty until it.
Moving company has to be booked as soon as we know the moving date. Commonly they are time-workers. We shall rather pay for one or two hours more than the hurry causes harm to our stuff. Wrapping of furniture and big household appliances is the task of the moving company’s employees, wrapping properly every other things is our responsibility.
Ask for advice your friends or even your interior designer before moving to pay attention to what and what kind of mistakes has to be avoided during this period.

Air conditioning
The matter of air conditioning comes to the fore because of the hotter summers, everybody who can, installs one at home. However, in the case of classic style interiors not only the function but the sight matters also.
The most important aspect of design is to place the indoor unit properly, that the cold air doesn’t reach us directly. If this is not possible because of the lack of space, let’s buy a model with adjustable reeds in both directions. This way, the „target” shouldn’t be the bed in the bedroom, the desk in the office, the main countertop in the kitchen and the sofa in the living room. The air conditioner with proper capacity can cool down the room without risking our health.
Only the grid part is visible of the ceiling built-in models. This can be perfectly implemented to the surroundings by a suspended ceiling decorated with classic style moldings or gypsum stuccos. But this requires a proper room height also.
There are some solutions for hiding wall mounted indoor units also. One of them is painting them with the same color. Since the cover of the air conditioner is removed during cleaning and maintenance, the painting should be done part by part, eliminating surface damages. Color models can be purchased also.
The indoor unit beside the window can be covered with the curtain when out of use. Let’s fix a longer curtain rod which overhangs the indoor unit. When it is turned on, the fabric is just pulled away.
The unit placed above the window or door and in the same color seems like the part of it, just like an overdoor. If it is not lately placed but we are in a building process, the frame of the door or window should be placed around the indoor unit also.
The unit can be hidden in a floor-to-ceiling cupboard too. One of the solutions is putting a door before it. The other solution is hiding it in the place of a shelf, just like a decorating object. If the cupboard and the unit have the same color, it will be more invisible. Proper air ventilation should be provided in both cases.
Take an example of fans, they can be built in behind a drywall also. Let’s create shelves below it in the drywall to make it functional.
Ask for help of an interior designer for fitting the air conditioning system in a classic interior.

Photos for selling our home
When selling a property, the most important part of the advertisement – beyond floor map – are the pictures taken of it. According to the experience, it’s not quite obvious how to take some such quality photos, which will “sell” the property for us.
Before we start, let’s clean up! It’s a great mistake if we think, that the several weeks old mist or the lack of mopping will not be noticed on the pictures. Another essential task is tidying up. Everything should be put to its place and let’s check, how could be the space even more spectacular. Let’s look at a few interior design magazines and get some ideas from the photos in them: there is no mess, color- and style cavalcade or too many decorations. It’s advised to move from room to room and always prepare the given room for the perfect photo. This can be quite difficult task when the property is inhabited, since the amount of personal objects and furniture should be decreased to a level acceptable by an outsider. If necessary, move the excess chair or commode to another room during taking pictures. Most of the decorations should be placed behind closed doors and the remaining should be arranged nicely. Let’s turn on all the lights even in daylight! Use wide angle lens to catch the most of the room in one frame. Emphasize the good features, such as large window, cozy alcove or the beautiful hardwood flooring. At bathroom and kitchen, the feeling of hygiene is the most important. Here the metal surfaces should be shiny, glass doors and mirrors should be freshly cleaned to show the glamour. If possible, let’s provide a picture of all the rooms to the advertisement.
Some disincentive examples that are regularly appear among property advertising: drying underwear in the bathroom, full trash bin in the kitchen, unmade bed in the bedroom, or dirty clothes on the floor. Although the prospective buyer will purchase the property not our personal objects, yet all this counts a lot with him when deciding, whether he comes to see the apartment or house, or not. In case of a house, choose a shiny day for taking outdoor pictures for the sake of real bright colors. The principle of order still should be valid: tidy up the garden, trim the grass, even stairs and paved parts should be washed up. Take several photos of both the house and garden from different angles.
If you would like to distinguish your advertisement among the lots of others, ask home staging advices from an interior designer for the preparation.
