Our antique furniture can be integrated well in a room furnished with modern furniture. The result may be surprising but has an elegant effect anyway.

Home staging 2.
The essence of Home Staging is to make the property desired for the prospective buyers. This is the hardest task when the property is inhabited during the selling procedure. In this case, the main task is depersonalizing. It is important to highlight good givens and to show space connections and exploitation.

Umber
Umber is a yellowish, dark brown hue. It is made of a natural earth pigment which was named after its source, Umbria region of Italy. Both raw and burnt versions are used. Nowadays, umber brown is mostly used during aging furniture painting method: an antique look can be reached with applying it in a thin layer on a different color base, as shadowing.

My project 28.
I have designed this 66 sqm, 3 rooms block apartment for a senior couple. They moved in last year, but the final state could be photographed only now.
The flat was fully renovated. The wall of the middle room (living room) was removed and it was opened into the narrow corridor. The inner room is the bedroom, the closest to the entrance is the dining room, where there is a place for a desk and which has a balcony also. The small pantry in the kitchen was ceased, now the sink is on its place. This way the old and narrow block apartment kitchen now has G-shape layout, which results lots of storage space. There is a shower in the bathroom instead of the tub.
The built-in wardrobes were tailor made by a carpenter, all further furniture was mostly given (e.g. sofa set, living room cabinets, dining set). The classic style reflects well the taste of the owners. Pastel shades and patterns brake the contrast of brown and white. Accepting the bold roses-on-black wallpaper by the couple was a real surprise to me. It is very rare during a job, when there are a lot of decorating elements perfectly fitting for the style you dream of – it was a joy for me selecting and putting the paintings and other elements to their place.
Thus, a truly livable, hospitable, calm and peaceful home has come true.

Modern farmhouse style
The so-called modern farmhouse style, which is so popular abroad since years, appeared also in Hungary. It is not always obvious, what is the difference between this and the traditional farmhouse style.
The main features of the original, classic variation are neutral color palette, vintage accessories, mix and match furniture fitting for country style, which are mainly antique or old, natural woods and rustic mood. On the other hand, the modern variation mixes the elements above with sleek/simple lines, industrial like accessories, uses much more white and tries to reach a clearer look. It’s far less rustic. Woods are not necessarily old, only natural in color. In both cases, spaces are wide and open, the ceiling is high. Beams are remaining visible. The used metal accessories are frequently black but galvanized metal and stainless steel appears also. Furniture are newly made, conjuring up the style and shape of the old ones but in a much simpler way. The total effect is tidy, airy and light. Practicality plays a leading role.
Classic farm style uses more colors, although these are moderated, but they can be mixed bravely. The modern style, on the contrary, harmonizes neutral colors and rarely uses real colors. If it does, they are much stronger (e.g. mustard yellow, ink blue, grass green) and acting as focal points. Shades of white and gray are dominant, which is now fashionable, so the interior looks more modern because of them.
