Gable: two similar sloped and joint rooftops plus two gables (firewalls) giving a right-angle rectangular based roof
Hip: it has four similar sloped and joint rooftops plus a ridge
Mansard (French roof): a gable or hip roof with the pitch divided into a shallow slope above a steeper slope. The steep slope may be curved.
Tented: a type of rectangular hipped roof with steeply pitched slopes rising to a peak
Conical: polygon or circle based, sloped or split tented-like roof
There are several other types of roof beside these, but the mentioned above are surely fit for classic style buildings.
